The Francofurtia, sometimes also written Frankofurtia, is the female personification of the city of Frankfurt am Main. She came on in the 18th century and can be found on various facades, monuments and grave stones in Frankfurt, as well as coins, banknotes, medals, stamps and postcards. Attributes can be city walls, crown, coat of arms with the Frankfurt Eagle, the Golden Bull, Code, the Frankfurt Parish Church tower, palm fronds, Empire scepter, the sword of Charlemagne. The most common presentation can be found on the corner of the house Alt-Limburg, which is part of the building complex of the Frankfurt city hall Römer.

Janauschek Thaler - The name given to the silver Thaler amd double with the head of Frankofurtia, designed by A. von Nordheim, and struck for the city of Frankfort a.M. in 1857 and later. Joseph and Fellner in their work on the coins of this city (No. 1265) state that Fanny Janauschek, the actress, is said to have served as the model, and they add that at one time this Thaler and double Thaler were sold in the United States at high prices under the name of Rothschild Love Dollars, and the public were informed that the figure represented a mistress of Rothschild.
