The first official documents regarding the ancient Abbey of San Fruttuoso date back to 984 A.D., but its origins fade into history and legend. This evocative religious building is embedded in the Golfo Paradiso, within the Regional Natural Park of Portofino, and it can be reached only on foot or by sea. Since 1983 the Abbey of San Fruttuoso is part of the properties of FAI, the Italian National Trust that takes care of its cultural and environmental heritage.
