Canada 10 Dollars Silver Coloured Coin 2015 Superman - DC Comics Originals: Gauntlet
The DC Comics™ Originals series has a classic, slightly retro style, recalling the look most comic book fans grew up with and remember fondly. Basing itself on the DC Comics style of the 1980s, this series celebrates one of the most established looks for the DC Comics pantheon of super heroes, and a few of its villains too.
General Zod. Brainiac. Lex Luthor.
Superman's rogues gallery is among the most powerful and ruthless in the DC Comics' universe! Once Krypton's greatest military leader, General Zod was accused of committing crimes against the people of Krypton and was banished to the Phantom Zone, where he joined the likes of Faora and Quex-Ul. Mister Mxyzptlk is a trickster imp with a perplexing name, and hails from the 5th dimension. Brainiac is vastly intelligent and driven by pure, unwavering logic. And finally one of the most iconic villains of all is Lex Luthor; a self-made man, Luthor possesses one of the world's most brilliant minds, but his immeasurable intellect is always in conflict with his equally immeasurable ego.
Obverse: Susanna Blunt’s design of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Reverse: This coin mimics a comic book splash page with a coloured and engraved rendition of Superman, flanked by by those who would seek to destroy him. In mid-flight, the Man of Steel™ is on the defensive as he faces off against his foes: Superman's greatest nemesis, Lex Luthor, is prominent at the far right in his battle suit; Phantom Zone criminals General Zod, Faora and Quex-Ul are above Lex Luthor in an attack position; and a robotic Brainiac flies alongside the diminutive Mister Mxyzptlk to complete the hoard. Also engraved on the reverse within a spiked word balloon are the face value of "10 DOLLARS" and the year "2015".

Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's Superman!
Endowed with a multitude of super powers—including strength, speed, flight, invulnerability as well as his renowned X-ray and heat vision—Superman is easily the most powerful being on the planet, but his amazing abilities are also a melancholic reminder of how different he is from the people he is dedicated to protecting. A universal icon, Superman means different things to the many diverse people he inspires, whether he is viewed as an alien entity, an immigrant from a faraway land who is just looking to help, or a country boy fighting the never-ending battle for truth and justice.
Lex Luthor had a full head of red hair in his first appearance
Mister Mxyzptlk can only be banished back to the 5th dimension if his name is spoken backwards
General Zod, Faora and Quex-Ul are native Kryptonians; under a yellow sun, they have the same powers as Superman
Brainiac has had several appearances and forms since his first introduction, from a green-skinned humanoid to a skeletal robot.
