French Coins 10 Francs 2000 Spirit of Freedom
Obverse: A representation of the Génie de la Liberté (the "Spirit of Freedom"), a sculpture located at the top of the "July Column" in Paris (Perched on one foot in the manner of Giambologna's Mercury, the star-crowned nude brandishes the torch of civilisation and the remains of his broken chains.), is flanked with the letters R and F, the initials of the French Republic. The rim constitutes a striated geometrical pattern.

Reverse: The facial value, crossed out with wide stripes, is surrounded by the French motto: "LIBERTÉ ÉGALITÉ FRATERNITÉ" (liberty, equality, fraternity).
