Bermuda 60 Dollars Gold Coin 1996 Queen Elizabeth II - Bermuda Triangle
The subject of this unusual coin is the Bermuda Triangle, also known as the Devil's Triangle. This mysterious area bounded by Bermuda, San Juan, Puerto Rico, & Miami, Florida has baffled people for centuries due to the high number of unexplained disappearances of ships and planes there over the years. According to the US Navy, the triangle does not exist, and the name is not recognized by the US Board on Geographic Names. Popular culture has attributed various disappearances to the paranormal or activity by extraterrestrial beings. Documented evidence indicates that a significant percentage of the incidents were spurious, inaccurately reported, or embellished by later authors.
The obverse displays the usual image of Queen Elizabeth II. The reverse shows a map of Bermuda, with a compass, and a 16th century sailing ship. Comes complete with box and COA from the British Royal Mint.
