Bahamas 2500 Dollars Gold Coin 1987 Columbus Discovery of America
The obverse features the Arnold Machin portrait of a young Queen Elizabeth II wearing a tiara. Inscribed around her "THE COMMONWEALTH OF THE BAHAMAS" and "ELIZABETH II."
The reverse shows Queen Isabella bids farewell to Christopher Columbus as he sets sail for the New World. The inscriptions "TWENTY-FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS" - "SAN SALVADOR" and "CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS 1987" appear above and below respectively. These coins were minted to proof quality using special dies and polished blanks.
